Dinan 20-25 BMW X3/X4 M40i Cold Air Intake

Dinan's carbon fiber intake for the facelifted X3 and X4 M40i replaces the factory airbox with one that is much larger and holds a bigger filter. It also drops the upper resonator and adds sound ports to the lid, so you hear more of the turbo.

What you get

• Larger airbox: 250 cubic inches, against 150 for the factory box.
• More filter area: 82 square inches, against 57 stock.
• More flow: Dinan measured about 589 CFM, against 458 for the factory setup.
• Sound ports in the airbox lid, with the upper resonator removed.

Good to know

• Only for 2020 and later cars. Dinan says the 2018-2019 pre-facelift models use a different setup and won't take this intake.
• The intake air sensor moves to the front of the new intake tube and has to be plugged back in during the install. Dinan rates the job at about an hour.
