The X3 M40i's factory airbox is built for quiet running more than airflow. aFe's Momentum GT is a sealed intake system that replaces it and gives the turbo a freer path for air. aFe quotes dyno gains of up to 21 hp and 24 lb-ft of torque.
What you get
- Sealed intake housing that keeps hot engine-bay air away from the filter.
- Pro 5R oiled filter, washable and reusable. aFe rates the system at 365 CFM.
- Built-in sight window for checking the filter without taking the intake apart.
- Optional plug for the auxiliary air inlet.

Good to know
- Installs with basic hand tools. aFe's instructions call for 7 mm and 8 mm drivers, a T20 Torx bit and a panel popper.
