Every gram in the valvetrain has to be stopped and started thousands of times a minute. Ferrea machines these retainers from titanium, which Ferrea says cuts weight by about 40% compared with steel retainers and helps the springs keep the valves under control at high rpm.
What you get
- Titanium retainers, CNC-machined from aerospace-grade titanium.

- Set of 12 for 5.0 mm valve stems.
Good to know
- Ferrea lists its 5.0 mm B58 retainer for the intake valves; the exhaust side uses a separate 6.0 mm part. Confirm your stem sizes before ordering.
- Fitting retainers means working inside the head. Professional installation is required.
