On the G8X cars both downpipes sit on the right side of the engine, and a crossover pipe carries the left bank's exhaust under the transmission. BMW squashed that pipe into an oval to clear the gearbox, which creates turbulence and restricts flow. FTP's replacement keeps a round cross-section the whole way.
