BMW's factory charge pipe on the Gen 1 B58 is plastic, and as it ages or boost goes up it can fail. That puts the car into limp mode or stops it running until the pipe is replaced. do88's kit replaces it, and is designed around a detail that matters: the two pipes move as they heat and cool.
What you get
- Replacement charge pipes for the factory plastic part.
- Aramid-reinforced 3-hump silicone hose joining the two pipes, so the joint can flex in any direction with thermal expansion.
- Less risk of the hose blowing off, a common issue when the connection between pipes is a rigid straight hose.
Good to know
- Overtightening clamps to stop a hose popping off can deform the pipe ends. The flexible joint is designed to make that unnecessary.
