This is the second generation of Active Autowerke's equal-length mid-pipe for the X3 M and X4 M. The main change is a set of resonators the brand developed with its factories to take the rasp out of the exhaust note while keeping the volume close to the same.

What you get

  • Equal-length mid-pipe design in its Gen 2 form.
  • Purpose-built resonators that cut rasp with little effect on loudness.
  • Less of the "2k buzz" some owners notice around 2,000 rpm, according to Active Autowerke.
  • Quieter cold starts, with less of the factory cold-start rattle.
